Meridian 5k Supports Pediatric Brain Tumor Awareness

Meridian Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical is proudly organizing and presenting this year’s 5K walk/run in support of Pediatric Brain Tumor Awareness.
What Little Feats 5K is All About

Why do we walk/run? Well, we do it for a little boy named Sevren.
In 2011, Sevren Farhat was diagnosed with an Optic Pathway Glioma, a slow-growing, low-grade tumor that had grown on his left optic nerve.
Over the past 15 months, Sevren has undergone five MRI scans and countless visits to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital to monitor the tumor. Though the tumor growth has been slow, Sevren has become blind in his left eye and it has put a significant amount of pressure on the eye, pushing it outwards.
In October of 2013, Sevren had his first round of oral chemotherapy. Our goal with the chemotherapy is to halt further tumor growth, and/or shrink it down.
The Little Feats 5K aims to spread awareness to surrounding communities and beyond. Little Feats is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to raising funds to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Program at the University of Michigan HealthSystem, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
